The new girl

So I loved my 30D, she was a wonderful camera who helped me wade through a year and a half of intense development photographically.  However, the time has come to upgrade to a pro-body, queue the online search…

Now dropping a grand, as a student, on eBay is not something that leaves one feeling comfortable.  I checked the tracking info at least twice a day until it finally arrived, my EOS 1-D Mk II.  Now I know the MK II is a few years old and this one came with about 190 000 actuations on it but I see myself getting really good use out of it.

So here’s some of what I’ve done with it in the last week…

October 2, 2010 – Sandy Mackie, head coach of the Carleton University Ravens men’s soccer team, reacts after a game with the University of Toronto Varsity Blues. The Ravens have remained undefeated in the first eight games of their season winning the first seven and tying the eighth with Toronto.

These are some flowers I found while walking around campus on an overcast day.

October 6, 2010 – A construction worker installs windows on a building at Carleton University.  As part of the Canadian Government’s economic action plan Carleton has begun a slew of new construction projects on campus.

October 2, 2010 – Geoffrey Borgmann, of the University of Toronto Varsity Blues heads a ball during a game against the Carleton University Ravens.  The Blues tied the Ravens ending Carleton’s seven game winning streak.

I’ll see what comes.
